Meet Me in HKV – Michal Antala
The excellent legal services that we provide to our clients are the result of teamwork. In this column we will introduce you to our new colleagues in a slightly “informal” way. Enjoy, get acquainted.
- Where do you come from? What areas of law do you practice?
Prior to partnering with HKV, I worked as a senior tax manager at Deloitte leading Slovak transfer pricing practice and servicing various industries with special focus on automotive. Afterwards, I joined real estate private equity group, where I led an international tax team focused on M&A, tax planning, international tax and controversy.
- What do you enjoy most about your work?
I enjoy / am motivated, when my work brings solutions to clients / organizations, which is ultimately being used, rather than put aside in a drawer.
- What trends do you see in the development of your favourite area of law that you practice?
The trend in taxes is very simple nowadays. The legislators are working hard to plug holes in the domestic and international tax legislation to safeguard respective country tax income and limit aggressive tax planning, avoidance and evasion.
- What common misconception about lawyers do you think is the farthest from reality?
I think a common misconception is that the tax advisor decides how the business should be done.
- What do you like to do in your spare time?
I spend my spare time preparation for half/marathon, playing basketball with my kids, playing ARPG to ease my mind.
